The description of duties that follows does not imply or guarantee employment, nor does it necessarily contain all relevant information as to an Officers Duties. This information is strictly informational in nature and is intended to give the candidate general information regarding the position they are applying for.

Armed Public Safety Officer:

Public Safety Officers with Metro provide a presence at a variety of locations. They may stand posts or patrol client properties on foot, on bicycles (where necessary or available) and in cars. They are expected to respond to calls for service that may include fights, alarms, battery, vandalism, and many other crimes. They may be required to make arrests within company policy as well as differing California Legal Codes (i.e. Penal, Vehicle, Health & Safety, etc.). They will conduct field interviews and preliminary investigations of certain crimes. They may be required to supervise other Officers and unarmed Officers in the performance of their duties when directed. They are expected to handle Public Relations in the field and write reports when required. Officers may be required to testify in legal proceedings when necessary. Officers will also participate in any departmentally required training.

Armed Officers may promote to the following positions:

Full-Time

Patrol

Supervisor

Unarmed Public Safety Officer:

These Officers will provide a presence at a variety of locations and types of events. Unarmed Officers will stand posts. They may be required to respond to calls for service on the properties they are protecting and may be required to make arrests within company policy as well as differing California Legal Codes (i.e. Penal, Vehicle, Health & Safety, etc.). Officers may conduct field interviews and preliminary investigations of certain crimes. Officers are expected to be able to maintain their composure while in the performance of their duties and while under stressful circumstances. Officers will be required to write reports when necessary. Officers may be required to testify in legal proceedings. Officers will also participate in any departmentally required training. This Position is eligible for Bi-Lingual Pay.

Specialist in new account acquisition of patrol and site officer accounts.
