Joseph Apparito
Lieutenant

Lt. Apparito is in charge of the Training Division of Metropolitan Public Safety. Lt. Apparito is an NRA Law Enforcement Instructor for Handgun, Patrol Rifle, and Shotgun. Lt. Apparito is also a State of California BSIS Firearm Instructor as well as a GLOCK Armorer and a California Department of Justice certified Handgun Safety Instructor. Lt. Apparito is Academy Instructor Certified by the California Commision on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). Lt. Apparito formerly worked patrol with the Oceanside Unified School District. Lt. Apparito has thirty three certifications from the Department of Homeland Security-FEMA Emergency Management Institute. Lt. Apparito also is certified by TASER as an Instructor, Technician, and Forensic expert related to all of their products. Lt. Apparito is one of four rotating Watch Commanders that Metro utilizes in the field.

Scott Zimmerman

Lt. Zimmerman is in charge of Administration and the Operations Divisions of Metropolitan Public Safety. Lt. Zimmerman is certified by TASER as an Instructor, Technician, and Forensic expert related to all of their products. Lt. Zimmerman formerly worked with the Oceanside Police Department, and is a graduate of the University of California San Diego. Lt. Zimmerman is one of four rotating Watch Commanders that Metro utilizes in the field.

Allen Andrews
Sergeant

Sgt. Andrews is a Supervisor and Field Training Officer. Additionally Sgt Andrews is a Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist (CAS) accredited by the Anti Terrorism Accreditation Board and is a Certified Homeland Security (CHS-III) specialist accredited by the American Board for Homeland Security. Sgt. Andrews formerly worked patrol, supervisor and criminal investigator assignments while serving active US military duty. Sgt. Andrews is a TASER certified Instructor as well as an expandable baton instructor. Sgt. Andrews is one of four rotating Watch Commanders that Metro utilizes in the field.

Martin Mangano

Cpl. Mangano is a Field Training Officer. He is bi-lingual (Spanish) and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.

Ryan Hartigan

Officer Hartigan is a recent Police Academy graduate placing in the top 5 of his class. Officer Hartigan was formerly a Sheriff's Deputy Explorer for the Riverside County Sheriff's Office. Officer Hartigan is certified by TASER as an Instructor in use of their products. Officer Hartigan is an account represenative for Metro and can assist you with any inquiries about security services. Officer Hartigan has worked assignments ranging from uniformed patrol to plain clothes details in prevention of burglary and theft as well as personal protection.
